The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application procedure.
Applications are actually open and will close on fifteen December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must satisfy the following criteria:
• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who emanates from a house with a combined gross residence income that does not exceed R350 000 per annum.
• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined family money doesn't exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and need not submit nsfas status any proof of income.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to check here all South African citizens and permanent citizens from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.

NSFAS only funds individuals who are learning or intend to research in a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.
Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
